I should rename this blog

"Liam, Quinn, and lots of yarn dyeing and some knitting too"

Latest dyeing adventures. My red came out pink (I should have added gold to it, I think), but I do like it with the gold-ish orange tones that I did as well.

Barbecue Fun

Tim's parents came over and he made great bbq for everyone--ribs, sausage, and a pasta salad, and Dede made a tasty cherry pie sort of thing that was perfect.

Just a few pics from the evening.

It was a really nice evening!

Trip to Las Cruces

My mom and I took a long weekend trip with the boys down to Las Cruces, to see my brother John and his awesome girlfriend Brooke. They are expecting their first baby at the end of August and are finishing nursing school. They're, um, busy. But they were kind enough to let us take over their house for a few days.

Some pics from the weekend.

On the way down:

Nice group shot!

Phineas and Ferb made the ride home more tolerable for all of us. :-p

A little knitting

I finished these longies for John and Brooke's baby, due at the end of this month. (Yay!). It's TIG's Jack colorway and coordinating green, on Carys BFL, knit w/size 7 circs using the LTK Picky Pants pattern, which I adore. Should be about a size small, which I hope will fit the little one when it's a bit colder.

I have been dyeing yarn a good bit recently, which is really fun and satisfying. I started with kool aid, and then moved to professional acid dyes. Here are a few ones I've done that I'm pretty happy with.

Here are some w/kool aid:
